In the ever-expanding Fortnite universe, few collaborations have captivated gamers as much as the introduction of Marvel skins did. And as part of this crossover, fans eventually got their hands on some well-designed Fortnite Deadpool skins. Now why are we singling out Deadpool from the plethora of Marvel characters in existence? Well, the Merc with a Mouth is kind of having a moment right now, what with Deadpool & Wolverine setting the global box office on fire.

Over the years, Fortnite has prospered by forging crossovers with popular franchises, effortlessly blending gaming with the world of pop culture. These crossovers keep the game fresh and exciting while simultaneously introducing some iconic characters to Fortnite

The appearance of Deadpool in Fortnite is even more significant as there are only a few games where the Marvel superhero plays a crucial role or is a playable character. In other words, Deadpool in video games is a disappointing genre.

So it wasn’t surprising to see fans get super hyped when Fortnite introduced its first Deadpool skin.

Now, after the release of Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 on 16 August 2024, a bunch of new Marvel skins have made their way to Fortnite including some interesting Deadpool variants. As we try those skins out, let’s look at other instances when Fortnite offered a Deadpool skin to its fans.

The first Fortnite Deadpool skin was introduced in Chapter 2 Season 2 back in 2020. Here, Deadpool was introduced as part of the Marvel outfits series, with fans being able to unlock him by completing the Deadpool challenges in that season’s Battle Pass. Fans could choose to keep his mask on or off and there was even an option to select the X-Force-themed Deadpool costume.

Players were also given a chance to purchase the Fortnite Deadpool set, which gave them a couple of new skins to play around with as well as a bunch of other goodies.

Those new skins included Cuddlepool, a female Deadpool with a teddy bear mask and Ravenpool, a stylised Deadpool skin with a hood (reminiscent of those earlier Assassin’s Creed games) and bright red eyes. These two characters came in a bundle called Deadpool Mashups that was priced at 2000 V-Bucks.

In addition, players could also purchase Deadpool-themed gear for 2000 V-Bucks which included the Meaty Mallet harvesters, the Dragacorn Glider and the Chimichanga! and Scootin’ emotes.

Upcoming ‘Fortnite’ Deadpool skins

While the original Fortnite Deadpool skin was released years ago, it rarely comes back in stock.

Fortunately, fans of this superhero will now get two newly designed skins with the Chapter 5 Season 4 Battle Pass. These include Gwenpool, who can be seen causing havoc in the trailer for this upcoming season and looks, well, badass.

The second one is Fishpool, which is basically Fishstick in a Deadpool costume and looks just as interesting (and hilarious!) as it sounds.

Besides these two, some fans even noticed a cosplayer in a skin which looked like the popular Fortnite character Peely dressed as Deadpool. While there’s no confirmation of this character yet, the cosplayer in question has certainly generated a lot of hype for this potential Peely x Deadpool skin.

In addition to these Deadpool skins, all Marvel fans are in for an absolute treat if they decide to play Chapter 5 Season 4 as its Battle Pass will also give them access to characters like Doctor Doom, Mister Fantastic and the Human Torch.

Well, it looks like Epic Games probably had a premonition about how successful Deadpool & Wolverine would become. Maybe they even had some insider knowledge about Robert Downey Jr.’s shocking Doctor Doom announcement at the San Diego Comic-Con?

In any case, we couldn’t be more excited to try out the new Deadpool skins while playing Fortnite.
