For Spider-Man fans and gamers, October 2023 was quite an exciting month. Following the success of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was released on the PS5 console on October 20 and safe to say, it has been a smash hit. The excitement of fans has been at an all-time high as they finally got to experience a new adventure with both Peter Parker and Miles Morales, fighting two radically evil villains.
In fact, Insomniac Games hyped up adversaries more than our friendly neighbourhood Spider-Men in the weeks building up to the launch. Meanwhile, Lauren Mee, a senior writer and James Stevenson, the director of community and marketing at Insomniac Games, also weighed in on the possibility of more stories unfolding after the release of Spider-Man 2. Stevenson playfully hinted at a sequel by stating that “maybe there’s a post-credits scene”, leaving fans with something to look forward to.

However, the biggest hint about Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 comes from the recent data breach at Insomniac Games that spilt the beans on a couple of future projects with Marvel. Come 2025, we will likely see a standalone game on Venom, followed by Marvel’s Wolverine in 2026. The confidential documents also confirm Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 planned for a global release in 2028.
Although the rumours suggest that Sony will release the game as a PS5 exclusive, its release date also coincides with the announcement of the rumoured next-gen PlayStation console.
