The dates for the Hong Kong Rugby Sevens 2025 are here. Mark your calendar for March 28 to 30 as the Hong Kong Rugby Sevens will hopefully make its debut at the Kai Tak Sports Park.
The announcement by the Hong Kong China Rugby (HKCR) came as World Rugby confirmed the schedule for the HSBC Seven Series. It will also take place in Dubai, Cape Town, Perth, and Vancouver.
Hong Kong Rugby Sevens 2025: All the details to know
Gear up for the return of the Hong Kong Rugby Sevens for its 2025 edition. After bidding farewell to its venue at the Hong Kong Stadium last year, the upcoming edition is expected to be at the new Kai Tak Sports Park.
As construction is still ongoing on the new venue, HKCR CEO James Fardon said that they are still “discussing the venue arrangements” for the upcoming edition. However, he emphasised that it is their “wish to stage the 2025 Sevens” at the Kai Tak Sports Park.
He also noted that announcing the dates earlier would allow sufficient time for international fans to plan their trips. Last year, only one-third of ticket holders came from overseas. “It would be great to build on the undoubted international attraction of the HK7s as a ‘bucket list’ event and to showcase our great city to people from all over the world,” he added.
“The Hong Kong Sevens is a fan-favourite on the HSBC SVNS Series,” said HKCR chairman Christ Brooke. He also thanked World Rugby for confirming that Hong Kong is part of the Seven Series once again.
Stay tuned for additional information in the coming weeks. Tickets will be available in early November.
