The Hong Kong government is organising a series of events as part of its new Day x Night Vibes at 18 Districts campaign. The events, comprising outdoor markets and festivals, will last until May. Through the campaign, residents and visitors can take part in different cultural activities across the city.
Previously, the government also teased that the Songkran Festival, Lam Tsuen Wishing Night Bazaar, and Lighting Duet at Sham Shui Po are in the works. Now, they have expanded the initiative with 25 new activities and events. Keep reading to find out what they are!
What to expect at Hong Kong’s new events?
The Kwun Tong Night Market is currently ongoing and features stalls, performances, and game booths. As the Chinese New Year holiday approaches, several events will take place at the same time such as the Countdown Celebration in Yau Ma Tei. Throughout February, there will be plenty of open-air markets and carnivals to visit.
In the following months, more events will follow. For instance, the first luminous dragon and lion dance performance will take place during the Tam Kung Festival. Meanwhile, during the Tin Hau Festival, there will be Cantonese opera performances, dragon dance, and lion dance performances to watch.
