As the gaming industry evolves, players are continuously looking for new and unique experiences that blend innovative features with exhilarating gameplay. Ubisoft seems to have gotten the memo as it, once again, showed its commitment to the competitive shooter market with the announcement of faction-based shooter XDefiant.
Launched on May 21 2024 after years of anticipation, XDefiant has captured the attention of gamers worldwide.
Following its launch, fans have now shifted their focus to the upcoming XDefiant Season 1, which is still shrouded by a fog of mystery. Currently, XDefiant is in its pre-season phase.
For the uninitiated, XDefiant brings several of Ubisoft’s popular franchises together in one universe. This shooter includes factions called Phantoms (Ghost Recon), Echelon (Splinter Cell), Cleaners (The Division), Libertad (Far Cry) and DedSec (Watch Dogs). In the coming weeks, this fusion of popular gaming franchises is likely to bring their fans together to take XDefiant for a spin.
Now, just days after its launch, anyone who is currently playing Ubisoft’s latest video game is already wondering what’s next.
‘XDefiant’ Season 1 release date, battle pass details and more
Recently, during the Ubisoft Forward June 2024 showcase, the publisher decided to show fans what they will get when Season 1 arrives on 2 July.

Season 1 of XDefiant will bring with it a brand-new faction called GSK. Just like any other faction in this game, this one is based on a popular Ubisoft game, Rainbow Six: Siege.
With this faction, players will be able to choose from three new characters; these characters will have abilities based on their game, such as Blitz’s Shield and Jager’s ADS.
2. New weapons
This upcoming season will bring three new weapons for gamers to choose from.
3. New game mode
Besides new characters and weapons, gamers will also get a brand-new Capture the Flag game mode. In this mode, players capture a flag from the enemy team’s territory and take it to their side.
It’s a very fast-paced game mode that has been a part of numerous popular multiplayer games for years.
