Among a star-studded revenge K-drama, a long-awaited apocalyptic horror sequel and a feel-good romantic comedy, fans should have plenty of K-dramas to keep them busy in July 2024.
The upcoming month will see the premiere of season 3 of Netflix’s long-awaited hit Sweet Home. Starring Korean heartthrobs Song Kang and Lee Do-hyun in leading roles, the series is a Korean drama adaptation of the webtoon of the same name written by Kim Carnby and illustrated by Hwang Young-chan.
Season 3 of Sweet Home has been renewed following the massive success of the first two seasons. Season 1 was viewed by over 22 million subscribers worldwide in the first four weeks of its release. The drama also became the first Korean series to consistently top Netflix’s Global Top 10 TV (Non-English) list. According to the streaming platform, season 3 will expand the franchise’s success with a stronger plot. The story will focus on humanity grappling with the emergence of neo-humans “in a world on the brink of annihilation, marking the climax of the monsterization saga.” Meanwhile, Eun-yu (played by Ko Min-si) and Chan-yeong (played by Jinyoung) will continue their fight in the monster-infested world. Directed by Lee Eung-Bok, the K-drama premiers worldwide on the OTT platform on 19 July 2024.
Additionally, popular K-drama actors Chae Jong-hyeop and Kim So-hyun will draw star power to tvN’s latest title Serendipity’s Embrace. One of the best webtoon-based K-dramas releasing in July 2024, the show will tell the story of young people finding true love by chance.
