The annual Fuji Rock Festival comes back for 2024, an event that has been showcasing talents from all over the world since its start in 1997. For this year, it will be held on Friday, 26 July, 2024 – Sunday, 28 July, 2024. Location is confirmed to be, as every year, Naeba Ski Resort in Yuzawa, Niigata.
Fuji Rock Festival 2024 lineup and tickets
Headlining the festival will be German techno-pop sensation KRAFTWERK, Grammy Award winner and inductee of the Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame. It will be their first time performing at Fuji Rock.
Following their performance will be Norwegian singer-songwriter Girl in Red, hardcore punk band Turnstile, jazz drummer Yussef Dayes, funk disco band Yin Yin, genius songwriter Rufus Wainwright, and many more.
Advance tickets are priced at ¥22,500 (approx. HKD 1,171) for one day, and ¥52,500 (approx. HKD 2,732) for all three days. General ticket sales start on 31 May, priced at ¥25,500 (approx. HKD 1,327) for one day, and ¥60,000 (approx. HKD 3,122) for all three days.
Transportation
Getting to Naeba Ski Resort involves travelling from Tokyo Station to Echigoyuzawa Station via Shinkanzen, which will take you 90 minutes. The shuttle bus from Echigoyuzawa Station to the festival will take an additional 40 minutes, so plan accordingly.
Alternatively, if you’re planning to go with friends or family and are carrying a lot of luggage, it could be worth it to rent a car from Tokyo. However, this would be a more expensive route especially if only planning for one or two persons.
If you’re visiting for all three days, there are a number of hotels, ryokans, and B&Bs around the area. Alternatively, you can camp at the site. Showers, onsens, and a Women-Only camping area is also available.
