If you’re familiar with mascots or if you love travelling to Japan then chances are, you know or might have heard of Kumamon. It’s the famous mascot of Kumamoto Prefecture in Japan. This April 14, Kumamon Run is happening at the Hong Kong Science Park. So, gear up for this Hong Kong event.
You’ll be pleased to know that the Kumamoto Prefecture is the organiser of the event, hence, have their seal of approval. The race is open to participants of all ages and fitness levels. Kumamon Run Hong Kong is an event you don’t want to miss
There will be three categories at the Kumamon Run Hong Kong (previously Kuma Fun Run). Choose from the eight-kilometre competitive race, three-kilometre experimental run, or one-kilometre family-friendly run. Participants can sign up individually, as a pair or as a family except for the eight-kilometre race.
To match with the run’s theme and mascot, participants will receive a specially designed runner’s kit containing Kumamon-themed items such as a T-shirt, towel, drawstring bag, and a rice bib. Those who complete the run will earn a finisher’s medal as well as a certificate of achievement.
Early bird registration is now open until March 12. Take advantage of the discounted registration fees for individual runners (HKD 398), pairs (HKD 788), and families (788). Early bird applicants will also receive a limited-edition eco-friendly cup while supplies last. Registration is open until March 31 or until the quote exceeds.

In addition to the race, participants will also have the chance to meet Kumamon. The beloved mascot who enjoys celebrity status will be at the event to interact and engage with attendees.

Plus, there will also be other activities on-site such as themed photo spots, a pop-up store selling limited edition merchandise, and more. The eight-km run will start at 8:30 am while the three-km run will be at 10:15 am. Finally, the one-km race will kick off at 11 am. For more details, visit the official website.
