LEGO and Illumination are reconnecting for another series of Minions sets celebrating the release of Despicable Me 4 on July 3.
On April 1, LEGO teased a massive 102,213-piece Big Tim set. However, as many guessed, it was an April Fool’s joke and won’t be going into production. However, while they have your attention, LEGO now reveals three new sets which will be available on May 1.
Highlighted in the series are the LEGO Despicable Me 4 Minions and Gru’s Family Mansion featuring beloved details from the movies such as the rocket-style bedroom and brightly-coloured tree house. The Brick-Built Gru with dancing Minions set is a fun display piece complete with ukelele-playing Mel and fart gun-equipped Kevin figures.
“Using the LEGO brand’s creativity and endless possibilities, this partnership between Illumination, Universal Products & Experiences and the LEGO Group celebrates fun storytelling. Fans told us they were really missing LEGO Minions and we are happy to bring this world of mischievous fun back to them, through exciting new play experiences. We hope the new sets will delight any fan – small or big!” says Solvita Akmene, Designer at the LEGO Group.
