With the LVMH Watch Week 2024 wrapping up on February 1, watch enthusiasts all over the world are discussing their favourite timepieces unveiled at this year’s presentation that took place in Miami, Florida and set the tone for the watch trends of the year.
Every year, LVMH Watch Week kickstarts the new year and establishes the ambience for the horological calendar. During its fifth edition, the esteemed luxury conglomerate presented a collection of fresh timepieces from six of its brands — namely, Bulgari, Zenith, TAG Heuer, Hublot, Daniel Roth and Gérald Genta.
Now, in case you are wondering what these new timepieces look like, here is a roundup of some of the best watches we saw at the LVMH Watch Week 2024.
Bulgari revealed its iconic Octo Finissimo in gold at the LVMH Watch Week 2024.
The yellow gold stands out as a technological marvel, skillfully merging the classic beauty of its namesake colour with Roman-inspired geometry. It comes with a 58-faceted case, a satin-finished yellow gold bracelet and a deep blue sunray dial. The in-house BVL 138 calibre, remarkably thin at only 2.23 mm, exhibits precise, hand-finished detailing.
The yellow gold version is priced at USD 45,500.
The Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon, a highlight of TAG Heuer‘s LVMH Watch Week collection this year, grabbed a lot of eyeballs. It takes design cues from the iconic Carrera 45 Dato and pays homage to the maison’s racing history with its striking teal-green hue. Its dial, which boasts a circular brushed finish that radiates an elegant lustre, is framed within the Carrera’s iconic Glassbox design. At the 3 o’clock position, you can find an azuré minute chronograph counter, with a corresponding hour chronograph counter at 9 o’clock. Positioned at 6 o’clock, the rhodium-plated tourbillon enhances the dial, complemented by hour markers and hands in a coordinated style.
With a price tag of USD 24,050, the Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon is also equipped with the COSC-certified TH20-09 Manufacture movement.
During this year’s LVMH Watch Week, Bulgari introduced two distinct colourways of its 1975 piece Bulgari Bulgari. The first features a rose gold case with a silvered matte opaline dial, while the second option boasts a yellow gold case with a matte black dial. Both colour variants are offered in either a quartz-powered 26mm size or a 38 mm-wide case, equipped with the in-house BVL191 mechanical movement. Both the watches also come with an alligator strap that is available in brown, black or beige.
The Bulgari Bulgari timepieces are priced between USD 8,250 and USD 13,200.
Zenith unveiled the Chronomaster Original Triple Calendar, which is a contemporary revival of the 1970s prototype, making it one of the major highlights of LVMH Watch Week 2024.
The new model is encased in vintage-inspired 38mm stainless steel with a bezel-less design and takes a panda-style approach to the chronograph and moon phase indicators, departing from the signature tri-colour subdials that characterise the Chronomaster. The timepiece, equipped with the latest El Primero 3610 movement beating at an impressive rate of 36,000 vph, offers a choice of three colours — silver, slate-grey and olive green.
Coming with two bracelet options, it is priced between USD 13,400 and USD 13,900
Hublot’s latest iteration of the Big Bang Unico boasts a vivid grass-green hue from the case to the strap, utilising the watch brand’s groundbreaking SAXEM (Sapphire Aluminum Oxide and Rare Earth Mineral) synthetic material. Additionally, the black-plated titanium screws highlight the bezel, while the 44mm case provides a distinct colour contrast to the timepiece. Coming to its features, the open-worked dial displays the MHUB1280 UNICO 2 Manufacture calibre with flyback chronograph functionality.
Limited to 100 pieces only, the Big Bang Unico Green SAXEM is priced at USD 116,000.
Hublot has continued its partnership with French sculptor and artist Richard Orlinsk and has now introduced two versions of the Hublot Classic Fusion Tourbillon Orlinski – Yellow Magic and Sky Blue.
Both watches showcase the distinctive Hublot-Orlinski design with a facetted case, while the new hues give the popular line a brighter edge. Crafted in polished yellow and blue ceramic, the 45mm case and bezel feature the signature H-shaped black-plated titanium screws. The skeleton watches also offer a view of the in-house HUB6021 manual-winding movement, featuring a tourbillon at 6 o’clock.
Priced at USD 95,000 each, both colour variations come with a corresponding rubber strap, and only 30 pieces of each version are available.
Daniel Roth has introduced a new watch at LVMH Watch Week 2024 – the Tourbillon Souscription. This timepiece represents a noteworthy moment in the brand’s history, serving as a tribute to its inaugural model, the Tourbillon ref. 2187/C187.
The latest launch serves as a fitting homage to the original creation, maintaining its authenticity while introducing new elements. This latest iteration showcases an entirely new in-house calibre and features a guilloche dial crafted from solid gold. The Tourbillon Souscription also comes with a reduced thickness of 9.2mm and boasts impressive technical specifications, including a 4.6mm thick DR001 Calibre with an 80-hour power reserve and a 1-minute tourbillon. Encased in 18k yellow gold and complemented by a brown calfskin strap, this timepiece stands as a testament to Daniel Roth’s watchmaking legacy.
Gérald Genta also unveiled a distinctive timepiece at LVMH Watch Week 2024.
This unique watch, adorned with Mickey Mouse, was initially designed to commemorate the 10th edition of Only Watch. It is now celebrating the 100th anniversary of Disney and the 50th anniversary of the inaugural watch released under the Gérald Genta name. Its presentation at LVMH Watch Week also signifies the brand’s first-ever participation and simultaneously commemorates 40 years of collaboration with Disney.
