Miuccia Prada, the head designer of Prada and the founder of its subsidiary Miu Miu is ruling the fashion scene at the moment. The Lyst Index, a quarterly ranking of the hottest brands and products in the fashion industry, has released its overview of Q1 2024. Miu Miu has topped the list, followed by Prada in second place.
It’s clearly her world and we are just living in it!
Earlier in Q4 2023, Prada took the first spot in Q4 2023, followed by Miu Miu and Loewe in the second and third place, respectively. Loewe maintains the third spot this time around as well.
On the other hand, Lyst Index’s Year in Fashion 2023 had named Miu Miu the hottest brand of the year, while Loewe’s monogram was hailed as the most-wanted luxury motif. So it is quite evident that these three fashion labels are not letting anyone take their throne, and are constantly shuffling with one another.
For the uninitiated, Lyst is a fashion technology company that evaluates luxury brands every quarter based on the behaviour of its customers. This includes analysing searches both on and off the platform, product views and sales data.
So, if you are curious to know all about the hottest brands right now, we have saved you the trouble of data crunching and simplified the findings of the Q1 2024 report from the Lyst Index.
During the first quarter of 2024, Miu Miu experienced an 8 per cent surge in online searches at the beginning of the year along with a remarkable 57 per cent year-on-year expansion due to its fashion show at Paris Fashion Week and sneaker collaboration with New Balance. Additionally, three Miu Miu accessories also made it to the Lyst Index’s ‘Hottest Products List’.
Loewe and Bottega Veneta maintained their positions at third and fourth, respectively. Meanwhile, Saint Laurent made its debut in the top five, thanks to their surprise show at Paris Fashion Week, which drove searches up by 10% in Q1.
Surprisingly, Balenciaga climbed four spots to secure the eighth position and Valentino took the ninth spot after the announcement of Alessandro Michele as the new creative director.
Speaking about the Q1 2024 rankings, Katy Lubin, Lyst’s vice president of brand said in a statement: “Strong storytelling and cultural relevance set the Prada and Miu Miu brands apart. Prada fans appreciate that they’re buying into a formula that’s been perfected over many years. Thanks to Prada, there’s credibility and intelligence to the brand that transcends the creative director churn we’re seeing across the industry. This validates investing in a Prada hero product.”
